Veayla Williams, Ph.D.

Veayla Williams, Ph.D. has been a psychologist for over 10 years. She has a myriad of experiences using different treatment modalities (i.e., group, individual, and telehealth) in multiple clinical settings. She has worked with various populations including, adults in the community, veterans, seniors, and college students. In addition to her work at Family Counseling Associates, Dr. Williams is also working at the Buffalo Veterans Affairs as a clinical psychologist serving veterans.

Treatment Philosophy

Dr. Williams’ main approach to therapy is helping people find meaning and hope in life. Everyone determines their own journey in therapy and how that looks for them. Dr. Williams is happy to walk with her clients on this journey by exploring and considering what will be important for them and how this might help shape the rest of their lives.

Dr. Williams utilizes a variety of evidenced-based treatments to help clients cope with or recover from psychological pain including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Depression, Cognitive Processing Therapy for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Prolonged Exposure for PTSD, Written Exposure Therapy for PTSD, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Skills training,  Anger Management Treatment, Mindfulness Skills, Relaxation Skills, Positive Psychology for Depression, Schema Therapy, Grief and Loss Therapy, Impulse Control Disorder Treatment, Managing Anxiety and Panic Disorder Treatment, Generalized Anxiety Disorder Treatment, Guilt Therapy, and Treatment for Excoriation (skin picking)
